Kori Babel
Kori-Babel.com is the professional site I built for my fiancée, Dr. Korinne H. Babel. The first design and implementation took about two weeks. Most of the HTML is assembled with PHP, and the pages share one header, footer, and navigation. The styling is custom CSS.
The live home page introduces her as an associate professor and graduate program coordinator for counselor education at the University of North Alabama, where she teaches in the clinical mental health counseling and school counseling programs and serves as the program’s CACREP liaison. It lists her credentials in plain language: Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor in Georgia, Approved Clinical Supervisor, National Certified Counselor, and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. She is also a certified DC:0–5 trainer. The same page notes her Ph.D. in counselor education from Auburn University, her master’s in school counseling, her bachelor’s in early childhood education, and earlier work as an elementary teacher in a Title I school.
The site is a set of pages rather than a blog. The menu runs through education, teaching, supervision, clinical experience, certifications, research, her dissertation, presentations, publications, grants, awards, memberships, service, and graduate student mentorship. Her interests there include play therapy, infant and early childhood mental health, caregiver support, counselor development, and clinical supervision. The clinical pages describe therapy with children, including work in Georgia and Alabama. The research pages follow studies of play therapy, among them aggressive toys in play therapy, counselor self-efficacy, and school-based play therapy. The publication pages list book chapters and journal articles, including a chapter on groups for children and earlier writing on counselor education.
